A leading engineering firm is seeking an ICT/Security BIM Design Coordinator in Kansas City, Missouri. In this full-time role, you will assist with the development of discipline models and produce documentation using 3D software. Ideal candidates will have experience with engineering consulting firms and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Qualifications

  • Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms is highly desirable.
  • General engineering knowledge of telecommunication or electronic security systems.
  • Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the discipline model under supervision of a professional.
  • Accurately model BIM elements with current 3D software.
  • Prepare detailed drawings and maintain the discipline model.
  • Accurately model the BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using the current 3D software
  • Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, & diagrams of the design using the current 3D software
  • Maintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets
  • Produce discipline specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output

In the role of ICT/Security BIM Design Coordinator we will count on you to:

  • Work for a specific discipline, under the direct supervision of an Architect/Engineer, or other technical professional
  • Assist in the development of the discipline model, with direction from the Digital Design, Architectural, or Engineering staff
  • Responsible for assisting with the creation of the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for that discipline
  • Accurately model the BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using the current 3D software
  • Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, & diagrams of the design using the current 3D software
  • Maintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets
  • Produce discipline specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm highly desirable
  • General engineering knowledge of either the telecommunication (Horizontal/Backbone cabling and pathways) or electronic security systems (communications, electronic controls, CCTV, access control, UPS, etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential
  • Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
