Job summary

Insight Global seeks an ICT Design Engineer to craft ICT designs for data center projects and develop construction document sets. You will ensure designs meet quality standards and budgets, and collaborate with agencies to comply with building codes.

The role supports remote work east coast and Seattle-area projects, with travel to sites as needed. Requires RCDD certification, 5+ years ICT/telecom, and data center experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years of ICT & telecomm experience across projects.
• Fiber optics knowledge and related codes/standards.
• Experience with supporting fibers, outside and inside plants.
• Understanding building code requirements.
• Awareness of separation and diversity requirements.
• 2 years of data center or mission-critical experience.
• Experience reviewing RFIs and submittals.
• Ability to review models and designs for construction.

• Data center ICT designs and collaboration with other disciplines to create a construction document set.


• Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.


• Work with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.


• Review and approval of equipment and material submittals.


• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.


• Work with deployment and construction teams to validate installation, operation, and performance of ICT infrastructure and supporting systems.


• Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.


• Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations and ICT site audits as needed.


• Having fun and offering creative, out of the box solutions.

• Fiber optics/related codes & standards


• Experience with supporting fibers, outside and inside plants

• RCDD Certification (telecomm equivelent for PE)


• 2 years of data center or mission critical


• Reviewing RFI’s & submittals


• Need to be reviewing models and looking at designs (construction piece important)
