Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced ICT design professional to develop telecom pathways, spaces, and cabling designs for mission-critical facilities. You will collaborate with engineers and managers to produce construction specifications and ensure alignment with project scope.

The role requires 5+ years in ICT design, data center experience, and strong knowledge of fiber optics, with proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years ICT design in mission-critical environments.
  • 5+ years creating design documentation for construction/permitting.
  • 5+ years with fiber optic components, cabling, interconnect products.
  • Experience in data center or mission-critical facilities engineering.
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies and construction methods for data center equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable inside- and outside-plant designs with drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate building designs with MEP and CSA teams.
  • Review and approve ICT space, pathway, cabling, and equipment submittals.
  • Identify and respond to risks; escalate to the FTE sponsor as needed.
  • Perform construction administration—RFIs, submittals, field surveys.
  • Generate site reports based on field conditions.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to arrive at expeditious solutions.

Job description


  • 5+ years of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in mission critical environments.

  • 5+ years of experience developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction and/or permitting.

  • 5+ years of working experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards.

  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in data center and/or mission critical facilities

  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g., CDCDP, DCDC).


Plusses:


  • PE License

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, etc.

  • Experience working with building codes & regulations in the region


Role Description:

In this role, you will work with engineers and managers company-wide to develop solutions for the physical layer. Your day-to-day work will include developing telecom pathway, space, and cabling designs, along with specifications for construction.


As a team member, your work will be scoped to assigned projects and deliverables and coordinated closely with your FTE sponsor. This engagement offers a chance to apply and expand your expertise on high-impact AWS infrastructure while operating within the defined scope.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop scalable inside- and outside-plant designs, including drawings and specifications, for assigned projects.
