Job summary

TURN Behavioral Health Services in San Diego, CA is seeking a full-time clinician to provide mental health services across levels of care. You will conduct assessments, provide therapy, coordinate referrals, and support coordination of daily operations, with on-site responsibilities in a busy program.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, discharge planning, documentation, and ensuring adherence to program standards. Licensure and licensure maintenance are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in a relevant field.
• CA BBS license/registration required (MFT, LCSW, LPCC).
• Experience delivering mental health or SUD services preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Office and EHR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments and mental health evaluations.
• Deliver therapy (individual/family/group) and case management.
• Coordinate referrals and discharge planning; facilitate field-based services as needed.
• Maintain timely documentation and meet billing requirements.
• Support program operations and supervise on-call coverage.
• Ensure confidentiality of client information and participate in meetings.

JOB SUMMARY

Recommend and assist with access to medical, educational, social, vocational, housing, and more to support program goals. Initiate referrals to the next level of care, and coordinate with physical health providers to ensure whole-person care, and advocate in the best interest of clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide assessments, mental health evaluations, family-individual-group therapy, plan development, case consultation, crisis intervention, discharge placement, and assist clients in meeting basic needs and symptom management.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, meet minimum billable requirements for direct client services.
• Facilitate placement including pre-placement visits, and transportation as needed.
• Shift coverage including part of the on-call team.
• Provide field-based services as required by program and client need.
• Maintain confidentiality of client’s care.
• Participate in scheduled program meetings.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.
• Serve as primary clinician and coordinator, and provide case management services to an assigned caseload.
• Maintain responsibility for administrative oversight of the ICM step-down program, including caseload tracking, documnentation compliance, treatment fidelity, and quality improvement activities.
• Serve as a lead resource for Case Managers, supporting coordination of daily operations, caseload alignment, and adherence to program standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree and CA BBS registration or license (MFT, LCSW, LPCC) required.
• Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements required.
• Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred.
