Job summary

Apple, Inc. is seeking a Technical Data Product Manager for iCloud data to lead data collection and dataset strategy across Apple Media Services. You will collaborate with Product, DS&A, Engineering, and Privacy teams to deliver reliable, privacy-conscious data for measurement and growth.

The role focuses on instrumentation, data contracts, taxonomy, and scalable warehousing to support iCloud use cases and subscription analytics. Strong data engineering and governance experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Technical Product Management, data engineering, or data science.
• Strong proficiency in SQL; experience with Python and PySpark.
• Deep knowledge of client-server analytics tracking strategies and iCloud instrumentation (storage usage, sync events, backup/restore telemetry).
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Vertica, or equivalent).
• Experience with data pipeline design, ETL development, and data transformation best practices.
• Experience with dataset design, including projections, aggregates, metadata, and reference tables.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy principles, and global regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR, DMA).
• Excellent communication and project management skills; strong analytical mindset.
• Relentless and tenacious approach to solving data engineering challenges.
• Familiarity with subscription measurement, plan/tier upgrade funnels, and engagement analytics is a strong plus.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Information Systems required.

Responsibilities

• Own the iCloud data collection roadmap — identifying gaps, instrumentation priorities, and delivering with multiple engineering teams.
• Collaborate with iCloud Product, Data Science & Analytics, and BI teams to understand measurement needs and lead instrumentation efforts.
• Ensure data collection adheres to Apple’s privacy standards and global regulations; incorporate new requirements into design.
• Enrich iCloud event data into downstream warehousing environments and design scalable data strategies.
• Develop and maintain data taxonomy frameworks for iCloud instrumentation and reporting structures.
• Define and own data contracts with engineering partners for data accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform root-cause analysis to troubleshoot data quality issues and optimize storage costs.
• Explore opportunities to apply generative AI to iCloud data workflows and drive insights.
