Job summary

Pierce County Parks and Recreation is hiring Ice Skate Attendants for the late autumn to early winter season. The positions are temporary and will run from the end of November through the first week of January, with shifts totaling about 20–25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include supervising the ice rink and lobby, assisting patrons, and handling rental skates in a safe, family-friendly environment. These seasonal roles are not eligible for County benefits, and applicants must be able to

Core Daily Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure proper use of the ice rink and lobby by the public.
  • Use strong customer service skills to educate patrons about facility rules and policies.
  • Assist customers in the event of an injury.
  • Fill out required reports.
  • Ice skate and wear skates for long periods of time and work in cool temperatures.
  • Move heavy objects such as hockey goals or ice bumper cars.
  • This position requires intermediate ice-skating skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
