Job summary

Fairbanks North Star Borough is seeking staff to support recreational activities in the Parks & Recreation Department. The role involves greeting the public, checking in patrons, enforcing safety rules, and assisting with facility setup and daily operations.

You will perform custodial duties, handle cash transactions, and aid in skates maintenance and safety compliance, with a focus on keeping the ice rink and locker rooms orderly and safe.

Qualifications

• Six months of work experience with the public.
• Must obtain Standard First Aid, Adult CPR, and AED certifications within three months of hire per American Red Cross standards.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Issue passes to recreational skating and monitor safety in the ice rink.
• Perform routine cleanup and general maintenance of locker rooms and ice arena seating.
• Clean, sharpen, and maintain ice skates and equipment.
• Render emergency first aid to injured players.
• Inspect facilities and report damage.
• Inform participants of facility rules and ensure activities are scheduled.
