The Ice Cream business is operating in a highly attractive category, as we are part of the 1 trillion snacking and refreshment industry, growing consistently at high pace. We have strong brands equities: 5 of top 10 selling brands including Ben & Jerry’s, Breyers, Magnum, Talenti, Popsicle, Good Humor, Klondike, and Yasso. We are investing to unlock the full growth potential of Ice Cream as a standalone entity, once we separate from Unilever, which is planned to happen by November 2025.

JOB PURPOSE:

Manage the Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, Compliance and improvement projects and initiatives for Ice cream factories in USA. This role will also be responsible for Capex estimates, FEED, Detail Engineering and leading E2E execution of these work stream and any future Engineering Projects of US Ice cream business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Making sure all Ice cream factories in US are compliant with latest Engineering, Energy, Utilities standards.
  2. Help delivery Energy reduction targets for the company.
  3. Lead any future Capex project Planning, FEED, E2E On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery of assigned capital projects adhering to Unilever standards and ensure safety as our number one priority.
  4. Lead engineering and Construction Management teams, drawing resources from the local, regional and global organization and 3rd Party Teams.
  5. Ensure that your Capital program meets the projected financial spend in each quarter, projects are capitalized on time, projects do not go over budget.
  6. Make sure all projects follow UMS EEM methodology for End to End execution of projects & innovation.
  7. Coordinate with all Engineering team across our US Ice cream sites and Global Engineering team to deliver these work streams.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

You’re a born leader: Leads technology, capital, innovation, capacity, and value improvement projects in the Ice Cream category. Responsible for providing estimates, options assessment, and technical support for these projects. Carries out tasks related to project assessment, technical support and implementation with minimum supervision. Ensures compliance with Unilever Hygiene, equipment and safety standards, specifications, and best practices.

You’re a change maker: Our success is dependent on change, and the Engineering Manager role is a critical contributor to driving improvements against all business metrics (safety, quality, finance, innovation, etc).

You’re a dot connector: Liaison with all key stakeholders (departments) to ensure full alignment with project scopes, timelines, impact and key project milestones. This role has significant interaction with R+D, Marketing and the impacted facility teams.

You love to win, and have fun doing it: Have the ability to balance a variety of priorities while maintaining healthy relationships across the engineering team, key stakeholders and customers.

What You’ll Need To Succeed Essential:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Project Engineering / Project Management with FMCG experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience of Ammonia refrigeration, Utilities, Ice cream/Food manufacturing & US factories GMP regulation for design.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a people or project management role.
  • Professional engineering skills.
  • Project Delivery experience.
  • Experience managing project budgets.

Preferred:

  • Firsthand experience / track record of delivering major (€Multi Million) capital projects within Unilever or similar FMCG environment.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $135,600 to $203,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
