Job summary

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in Adams Morgan, Washington, DC, is hiring part-time Scoopers to deliver high-energy hospitality and quality service in a busy shop.

We’re seeking self-starters with a passion for ice cream, who can work at least three shifts weekly, including late nights, and who enjoy a fast-paced team environment while helping guests choose flavors and ensuring top-notch presentation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Genuine passion for ice cream and desserts.
• Dexterity to prepare and serve all menu items to standard.
• Able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Stand for extended periods and walk stairs.
• Stand, bend and reach for prolonged periods.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Available to work 3 days a week, including late nights/weekends past 12 am.
• Reliable, on time and ready for every shift.
• Food handlers certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Greet every guest warmly, with enthusiasm and genuine hospitality.
• Scoop and serve guests all menu items while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Educate guests on flavors, ingredients and specials.
• Prepare all fresh, house-made menu items daily.
• Operate our Square POS System for a seamless guest checkout.
• Follow food safety procedures as required.
• Maintain store cleanliness and sanitation guidelines.
• Complete daily tasks including stocking, inventory and cleaning.
• Follow Van Leeuwen's safety, grooming, and conduct standards.
