Multi-Skilled Technician
Location: Sikeston, MO

Pay Range: $38.09 Per Hour – Paid Bi-Weekly

Bonus eligible

This position requires flexibility within shift patterns and the ability to work holidays and during planned factory shutdowns. Must be able to work any day of the week and adapt to schedule changes based on business needs.

Background & Purpose of the Job

The Multi-skilled Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance and continuous improvement to optimize the operation and maintenance of equipment. They diagnose and troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and recommend design improvements. They set maintenance strategies for their respective areas.

The technician must operate safely, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial controls. They should be problem solvers, actively maintaining a safe environment, increasing efficiency, protecting quality, and reducing waste. They participate in performance improvements, waste reduction, and cost-saving projects.

What You Need to Succeed - Knowledge and Skills

Mechanical Skills:
  • Support production with effective mechanical skills, focusing on safety, quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Understand mechanisms and mechanical motion.
  • Plan spare parts inventory.
Electrical Skills:
  • Replace electrical components such as motors and switches.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits safely.
  • Understand distribution systems and control circuits.
  • Understand electrical drive systems and control loops.
Instrumentation and Control Skills:
  • Understand PLCs and their software (Allen Bradley or others).
  • Update control and software documentation.
  • Learn factory networks, servers, and firewalls.
  • Support secondary equipment controls, like vision systems.
Additional Skills & Attributes:
  • Adhere to safety and environmental procedures; certification in Hazmat and First Aid is a plus.
  • Minimize environmental impact and waste.
  • Maintain quality standards.
  • Lead and promote team development and communication.
  • Identify and prioritize losses, develop cost-saving projects.
  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and eliminate recurrence.
  • Manage projects effectively using appropriate tools.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree and/or technical certificate.
  • Experience in report writing, data analysis, problem solving, mechanical calculations, leadership, and coaching.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing team.

Preferred/Desirable:

  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing.
  • Project management experience and familiarity with related tools.
  • Two years of manufacturing, mechanical, or technical experience.
  • Knowledge of structured text programming and robotics control systems.
