Hourly Rate Range: $14.20 - $21.00 (Standard), $13.20 - $18.50 (Non-Urban), $15.45 - $21.50 (Portland Metro)

Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (up to 24 hours per week) Ice Core Lab Assistant positions at Oregon State University (OSU). The role involves assisting ice core laboratory staff and students.

Position Duties

Assist ice core laboratory faculty, staff, and students with ice core analysis of gases and other constituents, design and fabrication of parts and hardware, data interpretation, and other basic lab tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Meet academic standing requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible
  • Meet the applicable minimal enrollment standards:
  • High School student: Enrolled in high school or homeschooling
  • Undergraduate/post-baccalaureate: 6 credit hours per term
  • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
  • Graduate student admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
  • Graduate international student admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may carry fewer hours if approved by the Office of International Services.

Additional Qualifications

Excellent communication and quantitative skills, experience with hand tools, basic software proficiency, ability to work in -25°C for at least 30 minutes, and lift at least 50 pounds.
