Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, WI seeks an experienced Inpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS) to ensure medical necessity and accurate coding across inpatient and/or outpatient records. You will collaborate with physicians, coders, and care teams to identify documentation gaps and promote best practices.

This hybrid, full-time role requires at least an Associate’s degree and 2 years’ CDIS experience with CDIP or CCDS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 2 years of inpatient CDIS experience.
• CDIP OR CCDS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient and/or outpatient medical records to ensure accurate representation of severity of illness and medical necessity.
• Collaborate with physicians, coders, case managers, nurses, and other staff to improve documentation quality.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in concurrent and retrospective documentation and promote best practices.
