Job summary

Integrated Resources, a premier staffing firm, is seeking a Coding Auditor (ICD-10) for on-site Newark, NJ assignments. The role conducts hospital billing and coding audits, performs DRG validation, and provides guidance on ICD-9-CM/ ICD-10 practices to stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Health Information Management or an RN with CCS, at least 3 years in a hospital medical records setting, and RHIA/RHIT or CCS certification. Travel up to 85–90% is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or RN with CCS certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a medical records department of an acute care hospital or health care facility.
• RHIA or RHIT certification, or CCS certification; valid driver's license and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and presents billing discrepancies found during audit and coordinates referral of improper claim payments.
• Identifies error trends related to medical records or billing documentation and provider contracts.
• Compiles statistics and audit information for accounts, regulators, and internal requests.
• Reviews and updates audit processes to keep up with innovations in clinical data review and cost containment.
• Trains new staff on department/audit procedures.
• Performs other special assignments as requested by manager.
• Demonstrates knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to the unit's business.
