Job summary
NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC in Tallahassee, FL seeks an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete & Masonry) to perform structural inspections, field testing, and reporting on active projects. The position emphasizes rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations with cross‑functional coordination among clients and contractors.
The ideal candidate holds ICC Reinforced Concrete and/or Structural Masonry credentials and a Florida commercial building inspection license in multiple
Qualifications
- ICC Reinforced Concrete and/or Structural Masonry is required (at least one).
- Florida commercial building inspection license (BN#) in two or more disciplines is a plus (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, and manuals.
Responsibilities
- Structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations.
- Perform field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt.
- Prepare detailed field reports with test results and observations.
- Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepare reports.
- Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff regarding construction issues.

NOVA Engineering is seeking an ICC Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete & Masonry) for our Tallahassee, FL office.
- Structural inspections for rebar, masonry, post-tensioning, and foundations
- Performing field materials testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt
- Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided
- Performing laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results
- Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations
- Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues
- ICC Reinforced Concrete and /or Structural Masonry is required (at least one)
- ICC Structural Steel & Bolting and ICC Structural Welding a plus
- Florida commercial building inspection license (BN#) in two or more of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing a Plus
- Ability to learn to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
