Job summary

Braun Intertec is seeking ICC certified Special Inspectors to join our San Antonio, Texas office. You will perform special inspections of soils, concrete, masonry, structural steel, and bolting, as well as conduct materials testing across a diverse range of projects.

Qualifications

• ICC Reinforced Concrete or Soils SI Certification required.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification Required.
• State/DOT certifications, and/or NICET certifications.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
• Excellent plan reading skills.
• Demonstrated math and technical aptitude.
• Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain, varying heights, confined spaces or trenches.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine & complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
• Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and temperature.
• Perform field density tests of soils.
• Prepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic format.
• Work with project managers and senior technicians to ensure specifications are followed.
• Assist with training & mentoring of junior staff, as needed.
