Job summary

CGI Technical Services, Inc. seeks a field QA/QC technician to perform inspections and testing during construction, ensuring adherence to design drawings and specifications. You will collect materials data, support client communications, and prepare clear reports.

Responsibilities include observing work, coordinating progress meetings, and ensuring compliance with safety and ICC certification requirements; willingness to work outside normal hours is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ICC Reinforced Concrete and ICC High Strength Bolting certifications required; willing to pursue additional ICC certs.
• HAZMAT and Nuclear Safety Gauge certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct special inspections, field observation, QA/QC, and testing services during construction phases of our project, as well as materials testing, to ensure constructed projects meet specifications.
• Prepare detailed reports and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Duties may include: observing construction activities and performing testing and measurements under supervision; verifying conformance with approved drawings and specs; notifying of problems and deviations; coordinating job progress meetings and related activities; may require outside normal hours.

Job description

The applicant must possess ICC certifications as follows:

• ICC Reinforced Concrete
• ICC High Strength Bolting
• If applicant does not possess all the above, must be willing to pursue additional ICC certs.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.

At minimum the applicant should have the HAZMAT and Nuclear Safety Gauge certification or the ability to obtain it.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to be insurable under the company vehicle policy

Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities:

• You will conduct special inspections, field observation, QA/QC, and testing services during construction phases of our project, as well as materials testing, to ensure constructed projects meet specifications
• You will be expected to prepare detailed reports and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
• Observing construction activities and performing testing and measurements with the direction of a supervisory technician, project manager, or project engineer.
• Observing work for conformance with the approved design drawings and specifications
• Notifying contractor, supervisor, and/or project manager of problems and deviations from plans and specifications
• Ongoing direct client contact arranging job progress meetings, materials testing, inspection, and related activities should be expected
• May be required to work outside of normal business hours
