Overview

Special Inspector Position Overview: With ACI and ICC certifications, you will perform field duties which include reinforcing steel inspection, concrete placement inspection, and concrete sampling at various project sites for structures and walls. Additional inspection services, with applicable ACI, ICC, DSA, or AWS/CWI certifications, include pre-stressed/post-tensioned inspections, post-installed anchor inspections, masonry inspections, structural steel inspections for bolting and welding, wood framing and nailing inspections, fireproofing inspections, and non-destructive testing. Must use a Surface/Tablet computer (company provided) to provide written documentation of inspections, sampling, and field test results daily.

Required Education

• High School/GED required
• College coursework (a plus)

Required License/Certification

• Valid Driver’s License
• ACI Field Grade Testing 1
• ICC Master of Special Inspection
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete
  • ICC Structural Masonry
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting
  • ICC Structural Welding
  • ICC Pre-Stressed Concrete (a plus, or obtain within agreed upon timeframe)
• Active membership with Local Operating Engineers 3 union (may join upon hire)
• Other ACI, ICC, DSA, NDT, or AWS/CWI Certifications (a plus)
• Military veterans (preferred)

• Must be willing to obtain additional certifications (ICC, ACI, AWS/CWI, NDT)

• Must have a good understanding of the construction industry.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus other computer software applications for data collection, data entry, and time/expense entry.
