Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation offers an internship conversion opportunity requiring full-time on-site work at our El Segundo, CA facility. You will plan and contribute to technical analysis projects, modeling enterprise-level missions and using our analysis tools to deliver timely reports.

We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in a related field, 0-1 year experience, Python/C++ skills, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Transcripts are required and occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software, computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
• 0-1 year of industry experience
• Prior internship with The Aerospace Corporation
• Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) proficiency
• Technical understanding of space operations, red vs blue simulations, threat phenomenologies, C2
• Experience with multi-phenomenology remote sensing techniques (EOIR, RF, and RADAR)
• Experience with Python and/or C++

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

• Ph.D. degreefrom an accredited college/university programin engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field from an accredited school.(pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)

• 0-1 year of industry experience

• Prior internship with The Aerospace Corporation

• Additional years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments.

• Proficiencywith theAdvanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)

• Technical understanding of space operations, red vs blue simulations, militaryutility,threatphenomenologies,killchaineffectiveness,communications infrastructure,and/or command and control (C2).

• Experience with multi-phenomenology remote sensing techniques, specifically EOIR, RF, and RADAR processing, for object detection, tracking, and characterization.

• Experience with Pythonand/orC++.

• Ability to work on dynamic assignments andevolvingcustomerneeds.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication skills.

• This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

• Experience modeling the space domain in AFSIM and/or integrating external tools with AFSIM.

• Knowledge of Intelligence Community, U.S. Department of Defense, and Department of the Air Force business practices and programs.
• Current Top Secret/SCI Clearance with polygraph, and special programs access.
