IBM/z/OS Senior Architected / Experienced Developer

Location : Columbus/OH

Skill requirements

• Hands‑on experience with IBM z/OS Connect Designer, API Toolkit, or Visual Studio Code tools for generating provider/requester projects and language structures.
• Working knowledge of z/OS application environments such as CICS, IMS, Db2, COBOL, and PL/I.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI 3.0, and API lifecycle design.
• Ability to map main‑frame data structures to JSON and back, using tools such as JSONata or the built‑in mapping functions.
• Familiarity with main‑frame security concepts such as authentication, authorization, and API gateway‑style controls.
• Basic understanding of JCL, datasets, batch jobs, and z/OS development workflows is helpful for troubleshooting and deployment.

Nice‑to‑have experience

• Experience with Azure API Management, enterprise integration, or hybrid‑cloud modernization.
