Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Systems Administrator for the IBM iSeries/AS400 environment in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on administration, security, and optimization of critical infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on IBM i experience, proficiency with DB2/400, and expertise in backups, patches, and system tuning. This is an on-site position requiring commuting to Dallas facilities.

Qualifications

• IBM i environment administration and security responsibilities.
• Experience with DB2/400 databases and system tuning.
• Ability to deploy patches, upgrades and perform backups/restores.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the IBM iSeries (AS/400) environment and related infrastructure.
• Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and storage utilization.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and software deployments with minimal disruption.
• Configure and test backup/recovery procedures for business continuity.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, DB2/400, and network issues.
