Roles and Responsibilities:

Seeking an experienced IBM i / iSeries / AS/400 engineer for a 6-month contract-to-hire, hybrid role based in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Dallas, or Phoenix. Responsibilities include:

1. Supporting business needs with off-hours and weekend work.
2. Participating in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.
3. Maintaining IBM i 7R5 and related technologies such as PowerVM, VIOS, Virtual Tape Library, BRMS, data replication software, security management, and system hardening.
4. Managing hardware and storage solutions including IBM DS9500 SAN.
5. Supporting application development and troubleshooting system issues.
6. Implementing security best practices and managing user profiles and system security.

Must-have technical skills (minimum 8+ years in each):

1. IBM i 7R5 knowledge
2. IBM PowerVM and VIOS configuration and maintenance
3. Virtual Tape Library solutions (preferably DSI)
4. BRMS scheduling, vaulting, troubleshooting
5. Data replication software (QEDD preferred)
6. Exit point security management (Assure Security System Access preferred)
7. TCP/IP protocols and ports
8. Security hardening (CIS Benchmarks)
9. IBM DS9500 SAN storage management
10. Programming in CL, RPG, or SQL
11. Installation and maintenance of third-party software
