Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic entry-level IBM i Operations Administrator to join our Corporate Information Services team in Yardley, PA.

You will receive hands-on training while supporting IBM i systems and Power Systems infrastructure in a production environment. The role is designed for a recent graduate with an IT-related degree who wants a long-term career in enterprise operations, with mentoring from experienced professionals and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT, CS or related field or equivalent internship/education.
• Foundational IT concepts: operating systems, networking, system administration.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail; eagerness to learn IBM i technologies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in day-to-day IBM i system operations under supervision.
• Monitor system performance, job activity, and health to ensure availability.
• Assist with backups, system checks, and scheduled jobs.
• Support user administration: profiles, permissions, access requests.
• Gain exposure to maintenance tasks like PTFs, upgrades, hardware support.
• Collaborate with IT teams to support applications and operations.
• Follow Crown IT security, compliance, and change processes.
• Document procedures and runbooks for knowledge sharing.
• Provide first-level support for IBM i incidents while developing troubleshooting skills.
