Job summary

First Soft Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced AS400/IBMi Developer and Administrator for a long-term contract with Oklahoma City, OK. The role is part-time and hybrid, about 20 hours per week, focused on legacy systems, DB2 for i, and modernization support.

The candidate will develop in RPGLE/ILE RPG, CL, SQL, and manage IBM i administration, security, and job scheduling while coordinating with hosting providers and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting and developing IBM AS400 / IBM i / iSeries environments.
• Strong development with RPGLE, RPG IV/ILE RPG, CL, SQL, DB2 for i.
• Experience with IBM i work management and job scheduling.
• Experience with FTP/SFTP file transfers and system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance legacy AS400 applications.
• Develop using RPG, RPG III/IV/ILE RPG, CL, SQL; manage DB2 for i databases.
• Coordinate with hosting providers and infrastructure teams for environmental issues.
• Support DB2 for i performance, backups, and disaster recovery activities.
• Analyze production defects and coordinate resolution with teams.
• Document architecture, interfaces, and data flows for modernization efforts.
