Job summary

Apexon is seeking an IBM API Connect Lead to guide enterprise API and integration initiatives in Lansing, MI. This senior role requires 10+ years in integration and API development plus 5+ years with IBM API Connect.

Lead design, delivery, security, and end-to-end lifecycle for APIs in containerized, cloud-native environments. Local candidates only; onsite work is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of integration and API development experience.
• 5+ years hands-on IBM API Connect (APIC) experience.
• Strong REST and SOAP API knowledge.
• Strong API security knowledge: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS.
• Strong JSON and XML knowledge.
• Experience with XSLT.
• Experience delivering APIs in containerized and cloud-native environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise API/integration solutions.
• Strong technical leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.

We are hiring for an IBM API Connect Lead opportunity.

Position: 1

Work Arrangement: Onsite. Candidates must be local to Lansing, MI or willing to relocate for the duration of the project. Remote work is not available.

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior technical leader with 10+ years of integration and API development experience, including 5+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM API Connect (APIC). The ideal candidate will have strong Kubernetes expertise and experience delivering APIs in containerized, cloud‑native environments. The role will lead enterprise API and integration solutions, guide technical teams, mentor developers, and drive end‑to‑end API lifecycle delivery.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of integration and API development experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on IBM API Connect (APIC) experience.
• Strong experience with REST and SOAP services.
• Strong understanding of API security including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and TLS.
• Strong knowledge of JSON and XML.
• Experience with XSLT.
• Experience delivering APIs in containerized and cloud‑native environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise API and integration solutions.
• Strong technical leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Must be a US Citizen.

• IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).

Education Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
