Job summary

SonSoft Inc. is seeking a qualified API specialist in the United States to design and implement RESTful APIs, with a focus on IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower.

The role requires hands-on development in Java/Spring or Node.js, strong knowledge of API security standards, and an understanding of SOA versus API design, as well as Change & Incident Management processes. Experience with Agile teams and global delivery is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in IBM API Connect (formerly IBM API Management).
• At least 2 years of experience in software development life cycle.
• At least 2 years of experience with IBM DataPower.
• Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Broad knowledge of web security standards relating to APIs (OAuth, SSL, CORS, JWT, etc.).
• Extensive coding experience with either Java/Spring or Node.js.
• Understanding of differences between SOA and API design.
• Knowledge of Change & Incident Management process (CMRs, etc.).

• Experience working in agile programs.
• Exposure to DevOps
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of experience within the Information Technologies.
