Job summary

City Rise Utility Traffic Control in California is seeking a Traffic Control Technician to lead onsite crews, review traffic plans, install traffic control equipment, flag traffic, and supervise job sites to ensure safety and compliance.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, IBEW Traffic Tech classification, and the ability to read traffic control plans. Union membership is required; travel across Northern/Central California may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA 10 Certification required.
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
• First Aid/CPR Certification required.
• ATSSA Flagger Certification required.
• TCT certification by ATSSA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions.
• Oversee work zone setup, maintenance and tear down.
• Meet or exceed customer, state, federal and company expectations.
• Implement traffic control setups per MUTCD standard and applicable traffic plans.
• Work with management and agencies to adjust work zone requirements as needed.
• Provide clear communication and direction to the customer and public near the work zone.
• Drive company trucks and deliver equipment.
• Tow and operate towable equipment as needed.
• Keep equipment organized and in working order.
• Develop superior knowledge of work zone setup and professional traffic control responsibilities.
• Provide high level of customer service with on-time arrival and well managed work zones.
• Complete daily Job Hazard Analysis with crew and conduct tailgate meetings.
• Provide crew performance feedback to Operations Management.
• Provide safety reports on incidents and near misses.
• Other duties as assigned.
