Job description

ENVENTION is looking for a junior systems engineer to join our team to support the air defense planning capability of the cutting-edge Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a transformative air defense system that integrates advanced technologies to protect against modern threats. You’ll work on complex systems-level challenges, collaborate across disciplines, and help develop solutions that shape the future of Army Air Defense.

This position isn’t just about diagrams and requirements—it’s about ensuring mission-critical systems work together to achieve operational dominance.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Dive into the details: Analyze, define, and manage system-level requirements, interfaces, and architectures supporting air defense planning for IBCS to ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Learn the domain: Build deep knowledge of integrated air and missile defense concepts, including sensors, weapons, and command-and-control systems.
  • Collaborate: Partner with software developers, test engineers, and domain experts to translate operational needs into implementable system requirements.
  • Apply the tools: Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw to support system design and analysis.
  • Support integration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure system components interface correctly and fulfill mission objectives.
  • Ensure traceability: Maintain clear links between requirements, design elements, and test cases; manage changes and impact assessments across the system lifecycle.

What You Bring:

  • Systems Thinking: Ability to analyze complex systems, decompose requirements, and evaluate interfaces and interactions.
  • MBSE Knowledge: Experience with tools like Cameo or MagicDraw in a model-based engineering environment.
  • Operational Awareness: A desire to understand the real-world use of air defense systems and how to build systems that meet those needs.
  • Collaboration: Comfort working in agile environments and contributing to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex ideas clearly in writing, diagrams, and discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Why This Role is Unique:

  • Impact: Contribute to a program redefining how the U.S. Army conducts integrated air and missile defense.
  • Challenge: Tackle system-level problems that require innovative and practical solutions.
  • Growth: Develop deep expertise in military systems, from high-level mission planning to subsystem integration.
  • Teamwork: Work with talented engineers committed to solving problems that matter.

Why Join ENVENTION?

ENVENTION offers competitive benefits with a small company culture. We’re known for decades of experience delivering innovative technologies and software frameworks to customers within prominent DoD programs.
