Job summary

Palmer High School in Colorado Springs seeks an English Teacher to deliver standards-based instruction as part of the IB World School community. You’ll design engaging lessons, differentiate for diverse learners, assess progress, and maintain accurate records while collaborating with families and colleagues.

This full-time position (187 days/year) emphasizes equitable learning, strong classroom management, and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Valid Colorado Teaching License appropriate for assigned subject/grade level.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices, assessment, and classroom management.
• Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, prior K-12 teaching experience, and/or bilingual proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Colorado standards and the district's vision.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs and backgrounds.
• Assess and monitor student progress using multiple tools and data sources.
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment with effective classroom management.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families; communicate progress and challenges regularly.
• Engage in professional growth and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
