Job summary

The Pivot Group Careers seeks an IATF Quality Engineer to support manufacturers in and around Mason, Michigan. The role focuses on maintaining IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement across supplier and production processes.

Responsibilities include writing control plans, monitoring metrics like PPM and first pass yield, leading internal and supplier audits, training staff, and verifying corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems in automotive manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret dimensional requirements.
• Experience leading internal audits and supporting customer or certification audits.
• Knowledge of core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.

• Investigate customer complaints and production nonconformances using root cause methods.

Salary Range: $83,000 – $118,000 depending on experience

Recommended Qualifications

• Root cause analysis skills using 8D, 5 Why, and fishbone methods.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret dimensional requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross functional work.
• Experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems in automotive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of core quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
• Experience leading internal audits and supporting customer or certification audits.

Bonus Qualifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Familiarity with customer specific requirements from automotive OEMs.
• Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis software.
• Certified IATF 16949 internal auditor.
• Experience with CMM or other measurement equipment programming.
