Position Overview:

The Cyber Security Engineer III - IAM is a mid to senior-level role responsible for designing, developing, and advancing SECU’s IAM program. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and technical lead, supporting and participating in the strategic direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of IAM solutions, including Privileged Access Management (PAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Active Directory (AD), Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), among others. The role involves designing and optimizing IAM frameworks, automating identity processes, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance security and drive IAM adoption. Mentoring junior engineers and leading complex projects are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with implementation and maintenance of security solutions (30%): Planning, deployment, change management, documentation, and training.
  2. Configure and tune security tools (20%): Integration, evaluation, and improvement of security responsiveness.
  3. Identify and recommend improvements (20%): Documentation, cost savings, service quality, operational efficiency.
  4. Support governance and compliance (10%): Assessments and remediation activities.
  5. Participate in on-call rotation and mentorship (10%): Technical support and guiding junior engineers.
  6. Maintain skills and certifications (10%): Staying current with cybersecurity trends.
Required Education & Experience:
  • Candidate must reside in North Carolina or a contiguous state.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Primary IAM experience with SailPoint IdentityNow, including architecture, administration, and configuration.
  • Experience with IAM solutions like PAM, SSO, Directory Services, IGA, CIAM, MFA.
  • Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth2.0, SAML, LDAP, Kerberos, XACML).
  • Understanding of IAM governance standards (NIST, ISO 27001, SOX, GDPR).
  • Experience with user lifecycle management, automation, scripting, and security frameworks.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of direct experience.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc.).
  • Experience with DevOps and managing IAM projects.
  • Knowledge of FFIEC guidelines for banking.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged computer use.
