Job description

IAM Architect

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect designs and implements secure and compliant identity solutions for government agencies, modernizing legacy systems, developing strategic roadmaps, and ensuring all ICAM architecture adheres to federal mandates such as the Federal ICAM Architecture (FICAM) and NIST guidelines. The architect defines the cloud and on‑prem security framework and architecture to meet business requirements and performance goals.

Responsibilities
  • Document the implementation of cloud security controls and transition to cloud security‑managed operations.
  • Develop enterprise‑level architecture that aligns with agency security requirements and modernization goals.
  • Design frameworks for identity management, authentication, authorization, and the identity lifecycle (creation, maintenance, and deactivation).
  • Work with application owners and developers to integrate ICAM solutions into new and existing applications across on‑premise and cloud environments.
  • Lead migration of legacy systems and leverage Okta, SailPoint, or CyberArk tools.
  • Create technical standards, blueprints, and integration patterns to ensure consistent and scalable ICAM implementation across the enterprise.
  • Utilize expertise in identity management, authentication, authorization, credential management, and IGA to define the security architecture for the customer.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of cyber/IT experience with deep expertise in identity management, authentication, authorization, credential management, and IGA.
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, FIDO, and integrating ICAM solutions using Okta, SailPoint, and CyberArk across cloud and on‑prem environments.
  • Experience designing enterprise ICAM architecture, cloud security controls, and technical standards that support modernization and Zero Trust objectives.

  • Certifications: Okta Professional/Architect, SailPoint IdentityIQ/IdentityNow, CyberArk Defender/Guardian, Security+, CISSP, CCSP

Compensation

Base pay range for this position in the following locations: California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is $126,300—$243,100 USD. Compensation varies by office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
