Job summary

wex is seeking an Information System Engineer 2 — IAM to drive day-to-day identity infrastructure operations, bridging support with automation engineering. You will automate access review workflows, manage L2 access, and apply AI-assisted diagnostics to reduce manual toil while maintaining strong security posture.

Responsibilities include SOX control execution, complex entitlement provisioning, and crafting runbooks and SOPs for the nearshore hub.

Qualifications

• Experience in IAM, IT support engineering, or systems administration.
• Hands-on with SailPoint IIQ, Okta, AD/LDAP, REST APIs.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript for automation.

Information System Engineer 2 — Identity & Access Management (IAM)About the Role & TeamAs an IT Support Specialist 2, you will drive day-to-day operations and automation for our global payments identity infrastructure. You will bridge operational support with automation engineering, leveraging APIs, scripting, and AI-enabled diagnostics to reduce manual access toil and optimize system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Identity Management & Escalations: Manage L2 access administration, complex entitlement provisioning, and role governance within SailPoint IIQ, Okta, and target enterprise platforms.
• Automation & Scripting: Write, maintain, and optimize scripts (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to automate access review workflows, data syncs, and system integrations.
• AI-Assisted Operations: Utilize AI diagnostic tools for log analysis, anomaly detection in access requests, and automated ticket resolution pathways.
• SOX Control Execution: Perform periodic access certifications, SOD (Segregation of Duties) checks, and audit evidence gathering to support compliance requirements.
• Knowledge Base Authoring: Author and refine technical runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs for the nearshore hub.

Qualifications & Key Skills

• Good experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM), IT Support Engineering, or Systems Administration.
• Technical Domain: Hands-on experience with SailPoint IIQ, Okta, Active Directory/LDAP, and REST APIs.
• Automation/Coding: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript for automating routine admin tasks and API integrations.
• AI Readiness: Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants and automation frameworks to accelerate task execution.
• Languages: Fluent English communication skills for co-piloting and technical discussions with US architecture leads.
