The University of South Florida is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Fall 2026 to support cybersecurity initiatives and contribute to data science and program management tasks. This hands-on internship focuses on creating software for cloud infrastructure, operating with AWS, and collaborating with technical teams.
Interns will work 15-29 hours per week and will gain invaluable experience and a letter of recommendation upon completion. A strong academic background and proficiency in Java, Python, and JavaScript are preferred.
The University of South Florida (USF) Institute of Applied Engineering (IAE) provides engineering solutions to enhance performance for a variety of sponsors, including the Department of Defense. The Software Engineering Intern will work under Accenture Federal Services (AFS) technical leadership to support specialized programs and contribute to data science and program management initiatives for the Department of Defense.
The internship focuses on cybersecurity‑focused software systems, cloud infrastructure, and operational efficiency tools. Interns will design, prototype, test, and maintain applications in AWS, collaborate with engineers, document processes, and assist with program management tasks.
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday. Fall/Spring semesters: 15‑20 hours per week. Summer semester: 20‑29 hours per week. This is an in‑person internship with limited remote work opportunities.
$17.62 per hour.
