Job summary

Swissport International AG is seeking a Safety Advocate to oversee Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at the station, with the goal of reducing injuries and incidents. Salary is hourly, and full-time staff receive comprehensive benefits including health, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and holidays.

The role includes audits, risk assessments, safety promotions, and coordination with Duty Managers and the QHSE Manager to uphold Swissport standards across the station

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
• Must be able to work in teams with minimal supervision.
• Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communications skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to lift up 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain station risk register and ensure safety audits are conducted properly.
• Conduct safety and quality audits and QHSE training within the station.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
• Provide periodic safety reports and progress updates to management.
• Coordinate safety initiatives and audit plans.
• Communicate safety findings daily with Duty Managers.

Job Summary

Safety Advocate is responsible for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at the station with an objective of reducing employee injuries, aircraft and equipment damage. Responsible for the tasks below as well as being a subject expert on various processes/systems/procedures as defined by the Station QHSE Manager.

The expected pay rate is $21.00/hour. Full-time employees are offered a range of health and wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time, sick time, and company paid holidays.

Your activities

• Ensure the station risk register is completed, maintained, and followed.
• Ensures safety and quality audits are conducted, reviewed and closed.
• Assists in the development of audit plans for the station.
• Conducts and/ assists accident/incident investigations, as required.
• Conducts safety and quality audits and QHSE training within the station, as directed.
• Coordinates safety and quality initiatives.
• Reviews station employee injury trends and direct corrective action.
• Reviews aircraft damage and directs corrective action.
• Conducts risk assessments as directed. Ensures Risk Assessments are completed.
• Coordinates safety promotion and quality initiatives.
• Reviews and coordinates the Quality Management System completeness and ensures the system is kept current.
• Provides station leadership with periodic progress reports, audit schedules and assessments of safety and quality programs.
• Completes projects/assignments as directed by station QHSE Manager.
• Provide reports (as required) to HOA/Region/Station regarding trends, performance, gaps, etc. or other reports as directed.
• Hold periodic safety meetings with management and employees at the station.
• Posting all safety information from local, corporate and customer communications
• Maintain the safety board(s) with new information
• Participate in daily briefings
• Complete at least two (2) audits per shift
• Peer to peer coaching
• Moderate monthly safety meetings
• Conduct audits in accordance with the Swissport NAA audit program and carrier programs
• Assist in the preparation and publishing regular safety and operational briefings
• Assist in the analysis and evaluation of audit findings, comprehensive fixes and trends
• Communicate daily with Duty Managers in order to coordinate tasks for the day and communicate safety findings/concerns
