Job summary

Swissport International is seeking a dedicated leader to oversee cargo service delivery and shift operations at IAD. You will plan and manage the cargo office and warehouse activities in line with policy and procedures, ensuring high performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take full shift leadership and management responsibility of cargo office and warehouse operations.
• Participate in running and developing all aspects of the operations and business.
• Work with peers to maintain a well-functioning relationship between all shifts.
• Understand contractual customer obligations, service quality and SLA requirements.
• Track productivity, quality, and financial performance; act to meet targets.
• Coordinate safety and quality initiatives.
• Ensure operations follow Swissport SOPs and staff processes.
• Maintain highest health, safety and security standards.
• Communicate with staff and develop a feedback culture; manage performance and development.
• Provide progress reports, audit schedules, and safety/quality assessments.
• Engage with customers to develop proactive feedback culture.
• Identify and mentor potential Swissport leaders.
• Be flexible to work any shift and coordinate tasks daily.

Job Summary

To lead, plan and manage all operational shift activities associated with cargo service delivery and handling in line with our policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Take full shift leadership and management responsibility of cargo office and warehouse operations in IAD.
• As a member of the IAD management team, participate energetically in running and developing all aspects of the operations and business.
• Work closely with the warehouse and office peers to develop and maintain a well-functioning relationship between all operational shifts.
• Have thorough understanding of contractual customer obligations, service quality and SLA requirements.
• Actively track productivity, quality, and financial performance. Undertake needed actions to make sure that set targets are met consistently.
• Coordinates safety and quality initiatives.
• Have thorough understanding of Swissport and airlines SOPs and take ownership of processes related to the department and its staff. Ensure the shift is functioning according to specified requirements.
• Ensure that the daily operation is performing according to the highest health, safety and security standards.
• Know the basic legal and authority requirements related to the operation and cooperate with local authorities to house a safe and secure operating environment. Communicate regularly with staff: review performance, improvement progress, focus areas.
• Take ownership for creating a progressive, open feedback culture by managing the performance and development of employees.
• Provide Station Manager with periodic progress reports, audit schedules and assessments of safety and quality programs.
• Communicate actively with customers and develop a culture of proactive feedback.
• Identify, coach and mentor new potential Swissport leaders.
• Have full flexibility and availability to work any shift during all operational hours.
• Communicate daily with Duty Managers in order to coordinate tasks for the day and communicate OPS& safety findings/concerns
• Responsible for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at the station with an objective of reducing employee injuries, aircraft and equipment damage.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree or higher a plus but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years Management experience within the industry
• General office and warehouse operations skills
