Job summary

Viasat is seeking an Information Assurance Systems Security Engineer to contribute to a small, fast-paced team on U.S. Government High Assurance programs. You will support security design and certification, including architecture analysis, requirements allocation, and vulnerability identification.

Strong background in NSA COMSEC/TRANSEC and COMPUSEC is preferred. Be prepared to generate security documentation per DoD standards and lead security design in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of communication systems design experience.
• Strong documentation and report writing skills.
• US citizenship and current SECRET clearance required.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Ability to work in Carlsbad, CA; Tempe, AZ; Linthicum Heights, MD; Marlborough, MA.

Responsibilities

• Derive and document system, software and hardware requirements from customer specs.
• Own system requirements and design activities for next-gen encryption devices.
• Prepare system-level materials and present at reviews.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to identify and prioritize features.
• Create design documents, development requirements and verification protocols.
• Support qualification activities and system test execution.
