Job summary

Wag! Group Co. in downtown Miami seeks an I.T. & Security Manager to lead hands-on IT administration, security engineering, and policy design across infrastructure and development teams. This full-time role requires in-person work 5 days a week and authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

You will manage core IT infrastructure (MDM, Okta, Google Workspace), drive vulnerability management, and partner with leadership on long-term security strategy.

Qualifications

• Breadth of experience across various domains of security.
• Analytical and investigative abilities with hands-on root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of threat landscape, common attacks, and mitigations.
• Hands-on system administration including Google Workspace/Okta/MDM.
• Core infrastructure management, provisioning, and cloud/network operations.
• Strong grasp of network protocols and operations.
• Understanding of OS internals and hardening.
• Experience with APIs, web and mobile app vulnerabilities and mitigations.
• Ability to work in-person 5x a week in our downtown Miami office.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate internal audits and penetration tests.
• Perform risk assessments and build threat models of infra.
• Detect, investigate, and mitigate security incidents.
• Partner with leadership on long-term security strategy and response.
• Harden apps, infrastructure, and network against exploitation.
• Administer firewall rule configurations.
• Support development teams with secure design patterns and tooling.
• Document security guidelines and procedures for secure operations.

The Role

Wag! is looking for an I.T. & Security Manager. You will work hands-on and cross-functionally across IT administration, infrastructure management, development, and support teams. The role requires a strong balance of day-to-day hands-on operational I.T. and core system administration alongside proactive and reactive security engineering, high-level policy design, and infrastructure management. This role is full-time and in-person 5x a week in our downtown Miami office. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. How You’ll Make an Impact

• Manage and administer core corporate I.T. infrastructure, systems, and SaaS stack including MDM, Okta, and Google Workspace
• Automate I.T. helpdesk with AI agents and workflows
• Provide hands-on operational I.T. support, user provisioning, and system maintenance across corporate devices and environments.
• Provide security expertise and guidance on new projects and technologies
• Select and deploy vulnerability management tools across CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and applications to detect vulnerabilities and security misconfigurations
• Facilitate internal audits and penetration tests
• Perform risk assessments and build threat models of corporate and cloud infrastructure
• Detect, investigate, and mitigate security incidents
• Partner with leadership on developing the long‑term strategy for security posture, detection, and response
• Harden applications, infrastructure, and network against exploitation
• Administer firewall rule configurations
• Support infrastructure and application development teams with tooling and processes for secure design patterns and vulnerability detection
• Define and document security guidelines and procedures for secure operations
• Provide constant training to the entire company about security posture best practices

Minimum Paw-lifications

• Breadth of experience across various domains of security
• Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities with hands‑on root cause analysis experience
• Knowledge of the threat landscape, common attacks, and mitigation strategies
• Strong background in hands‑on system administration and operational I.T., including managing Google Workspace, Okta, and MDM solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in core infrastructure management, provisioning, and cloud/network systems operations.
• Firm grasp in the following areas:Network protocols and operations
• Operating system internals and hardening
• API, web, and mobile application common vulnerabilities and best practices
• Ability to work in‑person 5x a week in our downtown Miami office

Purr-ferred Paw-lifications

• Ability to to develop tools and scripts in an interpreted programming language (ex: Python)
• Experience juggling multiple competing priorities
• Ability to deploy and configure infrastructure with pre‑existing CI tooling
• Proficiency using AI agents to write code and ship automations
