Job summary

OxyChem, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a skilled maintenance technician to support instrumentation and electrical systems at our U.S. plant. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and cost-efficient troubleshooting of process equipment.

You will install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, read schematics, and collaborate with production and engineering teams. Strong communication and SAP experience are preferred; NCCER certification is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: high school diploma or GED; 5 years instrumentation/electrical maintenance experience or equivalent
• Must be NCCER certified in Electrical or Instrumentation
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for electrical distribution systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; familiarity with maintenance software
• Ability to read electrical schematics and perform preventative maintenance

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs instrument and electrical equipment in plant processes.
• Installs, programs, calibrates, and performs preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation and electrical systems safely and cost-effectively.
• Participates in safety and environmental inspections and HESS training.
• Uses SAP for timekeeping, work orders, and maintenance history.
• Performs recordkeeping and documents inspections and repairs.
