Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is hiring for an Instrumentation and Electrical technician in Carlsbad, NM. The role covers installation, calibration, and maintenance of midstream instrumentation and electrical systems across plants, pipelines and compressor stations.

You will configure and troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and wireless systems while ensuring safety and regulatory documentation. A 12-hour shift schedule, valid license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass drug test and background check.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provides I&E support for assets such as natural gas processing plants, pipelines, compressor stations.
• Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and calibrates instrumentation (flow meters, transmitters, sensors, analyzers, data loggers, PLCs, DCS).
• Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment (MCCs, generators, transformers, switches, relays, wiring, VFDs, PDCs, UPS).
• Configures and programs industrial control systems; performs loops checks and testing regimes.
• Maintains complete, regulatory-compliant documentation.
