JOB SUMMARY
This position is in the Maintenance Department and reports directly to the I&E Manager.
The I&E Technician will interface with maintenance and manufacturing resources to diagnose, improve, and resolve instrument and electrical maintenance activities safely, responsibly, and in an environmentally sound manner. The technician will ensure that instrument and electrical equipment are repaired and maintained for maximum reliability and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and new installation tasks for instrumentation according to the daily/weekly maintenance schedule - 50%.
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, switching, isolation, and new installation tasks for electrical work according to the schedule - 30%.
- Update maintenance coordinators with job status and submit repair reports and documentation to meet ISO requirements - 10%.
- Report the progress of work to the IE&A Engineer/Lead and Maintenance Coordinator - 10%.
The duties are conducted considering:
- Changing production requirements (quality, quantity, customer needs, logistics)
- Equipment capabilities
- Maintenance workforce availability and capabilities
- Adherence to maintenance work processes and repair procedures
- Compliance with Arkema Electrical Safe Work Practices Policy and Guidelines for the CLO site
- Availability for extended hours, weekends, holidays, and after-hour callouts
- Performing elevated work on scaffolding and aerial lifts (JLG, scissor lifts)
- Supporting site HES policies and complying with regulatory and internal requirements
- Participating in HES activities like Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.
- Reporting all health, safety, environmental incidents, near-misses, accidents, or injuries

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of field maintenance experience with electrical and instrumentation.
EDUCATION AND AREA OF FOCUS
High school diploma
CERTIFICATIONS/TRAININGS
Instrument or Electrical Technical degree/Certification preferred.

- Good written and oral communication skills to interface with operations and maintenance personnel
- Ability to follow maintenance procedures for equipment
- Ability to read, understand, and utilize equipment drawings and P&ID's
- Works well in teams
- Computer skills are a plus
- Knowledge in the use of hand and power tools related to electrical & instrumentation work
- Knowledgeable in motor control systems
- Basic knowledge of Adjustable Speed Drives construction, operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
- Basic knowledge of Multilin 369 Motor Protective Relays
- Skilled in interpreting electrical diagrams/schematics
- Skilled in utilizing electrical and instrumentation diagnostic equipment
- Skilled in motor terminology and maintenance procedures
- Knowledgeable in dry type transformer construction, troubleshooting, and wiring
- Knowledgeable in locating and isolating 480V ground faults using ground fault location equipment
- Knowledgeable in plant equipment grounding systems construction, testing, and maintenance
- Knowledgeable in UPS functions, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
- Knowledgeable in troubleshooting electrical control circuitry and distribution equipment
