Job summary

Targa Resources in Midland, TX is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to support plant processing equipment. You will diagnose and repair control wiring, motor starters, and instrumentation, reading schematics and P&ID drawings while following safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related work experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Strong communication and interfacing with teams, personnel and vendors.
• Execute maintenance activities related to pipeline maintenance and operation.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in changing climate conditions and confined spaces.
• Must follow PPE guidelines and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment on plant processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair compressor panel control wiring and devices.
• Troubleshoot electrical motor starter panels and motor issues.
• Read electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems in plants and field boosters.
• Work on systems from 12 VDC to 4160 VAC.
• Maintain control valves and transmitters; diagnose PLC/DCS issues.
• Collaborate with different groups on related projects.
