Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking an I&E Technician in Freeport, TX. You will perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical and process control instrumentation, while supporting startup/shutdown activities and ensuring accurate documentation in CMMS.

Minimum three years of instrumentation experience, HS diploma required; AS degree or apprenticeship preferred. Strong reading of P&ID diagrams and good organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years related experience in process control instrumentation.
• Proficiency with tools and instruments for calibration and measurement.
• Read and understand P&ID's and schematic wiring diagrams.
• Strong organizational and planning skills and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below).
• Troubleshoot and calibrate pneumatic and electronic process control instrumentation.
• Document instrumentation repair history in CMMS and site documentation.
• Work with control logic drawings to support process control.
• Assist startup/shutdown and operation of plant equipment.
• Maintain safety and environmental awareness at all times.
• Readily access spare parts and support replacements as needed.
• Instruct contract personnel on safety rules and regulations.

What you will enjoy doing*

• In this role, you iwll perform Work Safely and in accordance Linde’s policy’s and procedures
• Troubleshoot, maintenance and minor repair of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below)
• Troubleshooting, calibration and maintenance of pneumatic and electronic analog and digital process control instrumentation
• You will troubleshoot / repair Predictive program instrumentation and document instrumentation repair history in the CMMS system and required by site specific documentation
• Troubleshoot systems utilizing control logic drawings as they relate to process control
• Will include startup / shutdown and operations of process plant equipment
• Process analytical equipment calibration and maintenance which may include: Thermal Conductivity, Gas
• Chromatograph, Electrolytic process analyzers
• Schedule and perform activities related to the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, low voltage electrical distribution, computer interfaces, and analytical equipment
• Automatic control valve troubleshooting, maintenance and repair
• You will ensure spare parts are available or replaced when used/installed
• And you will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times
• Required to climb ladders, stairways and operate man-lifts for elevated instrumentation and control valve maintenance
• Instructs contract personnel on safety rules and regulations and maintains constant surveillance to assure their compliance at all times

What Makes You Great

• You hold High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Associates in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship is preferred
• Three (3) years related experience in process control instrumentation
• Proficiency with a variety of I/E hand tools meters, instrument calibration equipment etc
• You have working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems and motors
• Can read and understand P&ID's and schematic wiring diagrams
• You have strong organization and planning skills
• Strong computer skills suit your profile
• Written and oral communication skills
