Job summary

Optimal Field Services in Houston, TX seeks an Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor to oversee I&E technicians and coordinate installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and electrical systems. You will supervise daily activities, assign work, and prioritize jobs in a fast-paced plant setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred.
• SAP background.
• 1–2 years of industrial electrical or instrumentation maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• TWIC Card; able to pass drug screen, background check, and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of I&E technicians, including work assignments, scheduling, and job prioritization.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and electrical equipment (motors, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, control panels).
• Calibrate and test instruments (flow meters, sensors, transmitters, level devices).
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and manuals to diagnose faults.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, codes, and standards.
• Use test equipment to analyze and troubleshoot faults.
• Support commissioning and start-up of new systems.
• Document work and update maintenance logs/asset systems.
• Coordinate with operations/engineering to plan work orders.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and communicate to leadership.
