Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an I&E Supervisor for the SACROC CO2 Gas Processing Plant in Snyder, TX. You will oversee Automation, Instrumentation, and Electrical activities, supervise I&E and SCADA technicians, and coordinate with engineers and operations to maintain safe, reliable plant performance.

The role focuses on improving process safety, maintenance reliability, and budget adherence while leading a team across difficult environments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical systems up to 12470V including switchgears and VFDs.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA and IFix software.
• Proficient with MS Office and data analysis.
• Familiar with instrumentation end devices, transmitters and valve positioners.
• Experience with large motors and drive systems is preferred.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements in Process Safety Management and maintenance programs.
• Provide technical leadership to the I&E group.
• Prepare reliability plans for Electrical/Power/Instrumentation/SCADA systems.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and critical repair activities.
• Support operations to minimize downtime and optimize costs.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations on safety and expansion projects.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and monitor spend.

What We Are Looking For

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking an I&E Supervisor for the SACROC CO2 Gas Processing Plant in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the plant including the plant Instrumentation and Electrical systems. The SACROC Gas Processing Plant employs a multitude of processes which include over 300,000Hp of compression, gas dehydration facilities, NGL Recovery facilities, and CO2 membranes. The SACROC Gas Processing Plant is a PSM Facility. Secondary responsibilities may occasionally include assisting with instrumentation and electrical systems at the Snyder Gas Plant and SACROC Power Plant

The I&E Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of all Automation, Instrumentation, and Electrical activities within the plant facilities. This includes the direct supervision of company I&E and SCADA Support Technicians, and various contractors.

What You Will Do

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Drive improvements in: Process Safety Management program, Preventative Maintenance program, development of employees, efficient operations, and equipment reliability.
• Provides technical leadership to the I&E group.
• Prepares reliability plans for critical Electrical/Power/Instrumentation/SCADA systems:
• Responsible for Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and Critical repair activities.
• Provide support to operations to ensure plant downtime is minimized.
• Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient and cost effective operation, making sure that operating costs are consistent with budgetary constraints.
• Support and work with outside groups such as process engineering, project engineering, and the Operations Excellence team on safety, optimization, and expansion initiatives.
• Assist in preparation of annual operating budgets, monitor budgetary performance throughout the year, and reporting budgetary performance to Operations Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
• Required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Plant vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
• Must participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and be on site within 45 minutes of call outs.
• Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend.

What You Need

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to KM’s insurer.
• Must be able to work with a team, take direction from manager, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
• Manage budgeting, cost tracking, and expenditure reporting for the I&E team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 12470V, including switchgears, motor starters, and VFD’s.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and IFix
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of various instrumentation and end devices, psi and temp transmitters, valve positioners, level switches
• Knowledge of synchronous motors up to 10,000hp
• Knowledge of induction motors up to 2000hp
• Strong communication skills
• Strong analytical skills

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Prior supervisory experience
• Experience with budgeting, cost tracking and reporting
• Experience with Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management Software
• Experience and knowledge with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in applicable Engineering or Technology discipline
