Job Overview
Instrumentation & Electrical Operations Technician III/ Senior – Works with safety‑focused technicians to maintain equipment reliability and availability. Mentoring teammates, solving sophisticated problems efficiently, and paying close attention to detail are key to success.
Responsibilities / Expectations
- Perform complex maintenance and operational tasks with all natural gas process‑related equipment and systems.
- Minimize unplanned shutdowns through root cause analyses and implementation of corrective actions.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to share findings, root causes, and resolutions with a focus on improved safety.
- Fix and maintain process control systems.
- Collaborate with project managers to define scope and instrumentation specifications for new projects.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Required: High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 3 years experience in operations, engineering, or the energy industry.
- Preferred: Associate or 2‑year technical degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in operations, engineering, or the energy industry.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises, and in enclosed spaces.
- Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed.
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods.
- Work at elevated levels from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or small towers with appropriate PPE.
Shift / Work Hours / Travel Requirements
- Available for after‑hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- May be required to work overtime and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays.
- Typical 10‑hour schedule: Monday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday.
Other Requirements
- Must possess a valid State Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated aptitude for technology and applications to drive operational efficiency.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as the utmost priority.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and PC skills.
- Previous experience in gas‑plant operations, gas compression, and/or liquid or gas gathering processes.
- Experience in the mechanical, electrical, and/or maintenance industry.
- Preferred: 3 years instrumentation & electrical experience, including troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance in a low‑voltage industrial environment.
- Preferred: Experience with Allen‑Bradley PLC systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
