Job summary

Talen Energy in Berwick, PA seeks an Instrumentation & Control Technician to perform skilled work on plant instrumentation and controls, with minimal disruption to operations. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and install control systems while maintaining thorough records and supporting safety programs.

Ideal candidates have a strong reading of drawings, ability to train others, and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with the specified instrumentation training.
• Associate degree in electronics, electricity or nuclear technology.
• Successful completion of the I&C Technician exam is required.
• Ability to read and understand technical instructions and diagrams.
• Valid PA driver's license.
• External candidates with related nuclear tech experience fit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled work on instrumentation and control systems with minimal interference to plant operation.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, installs, calibrates and adjusts instrumentation and controls.
• Instructs staff in maintenance, testing, calibration and proper functioning of instrumentation.
• Maintains calibration records and test equipment records.
• Conducts surveillance tests and prepares test results.
