Job Title: Onsite I&C Project Manager

Job Description:

As an onsite I&C Project Manager, you will lead our client's FEL and detailed design projects, facilitate equipment procurements, as well as complete planning and execution of installation, commissioning, and handover to Operations. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate with all project stakeholders. The selected individual will work onsite Monday - Friday at a Specialty Chemical Plant in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with client Subject Matter Experts, Operations and Maintenance, Procurement and Projects personnel, 3rd party engineering design teams, equipment vendors, etc.
  • Develop project and construction execution plans, project funding requests, schedules, etc.
  • Drive the project team’s work to ensure that they meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Hold regular progress meetings, safety meetings, and design reviews.
  • Track, prepare and update progress report, risk log, schedules, budget expenditures, and change logs.
  • Ensure all action items related to safety review are implemented and verified complete.
  • Review and approve project documents for compliance with industry and company standards and project requirements and specifications.
  • Assemble gate review packages to facilitate project continuance decisions.
  • Coordinate with Procurement Manager for tendering activities, purchase requisitioning, and supplier management.
  • Facilitate contractor safety compliance while on-site.
  • Ensure all project scope executes to safety standards and requirements. Review all job plans for high risk during construction in discipline related areas/scope.
  • Coordinate approval of commissioning file for each systems & equipment’s which includes method statements, single line diagram, site instructions, deviation list, various tests, equipment datasheet & specification, relay setting calculations, etc.
  • Arrange Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) witness and certification process for all equipment and systems with site Subject Matter Experts and Engineers of Record.
  • Coordinate with the Construction Manager(s), Engineers, Project Manager, and Contractors for Inspection of respective systems/subsystem’s and functional testing documentation.
  • Schedule and monitor Contractor site activity on critical equipment, complex system packages to agreed execution plans and schedules.
  • Manage Requests for Information submissions and resolutions.
  • Oversee contractor installation QA/QC, Testing and Commissioning Activities.
  • Document and retain appropriate approvals for all deviations and non-conformances.
  • Work with Engineer of Record to ensure construction complies with Issued for Construction designs.
  • Identify and track all punch list items for mechanical completion.
  • Coordinate and lead project closeout activities.
  • Complete Management of Change documentation in support of Process Safety Management and OSHA regulations including close out of as-build documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of I&C DCS and SIS systems and their construction in an operational chemical or specialty chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Demonstrate capability to manage rapid response single discipline projects and medium sized multidiscipline projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in I&C within a controls vendor, EPC firm, or chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to climb ladders and safely navigate high hazard production facilities.
  • Strong business acumen in project planning and management.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills and good team working skills.
