Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Madison, PA seeks an I&C Instructor to support the training of operators for AP1000 and fleet reactors. The role is hybrid, typically 2-3 days on-site at the Madison facility, reporting to the Operations and Technical Training Manager.

You will design and deliver initial and continuing education, develop sessions, update simulator content, and collaborate on trainer materials, testing, and documentation with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• . Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field with nuclear side experience.
• . Strong training/instruction background in nuclear operations is preferred.
• . 4-10 years of experience in Navy Nuclear/REAC/Plant Engineer roles or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of SAT process for initial and continuing education programs.
• Carry out analysis, design, and implementation of training needs in their specialty.
• Design, develop, and implement sessions for licensed and non-licensed personnel in classroom, plant, and simulator.
• Collaborate to correct simulator issues and participate in required tests.
• Coordinate training and support training committees or program planning.
• Develop supporting documentation and maintain existing materials.
• Develop advanced training means (simulators, multimedia, videos, models) and update existing tools.

About The Role

As a I&C Instructor you will support the new generation of reactors including the AP1000® and the operating fleet from all over the world. You will report to the Operations and Technical Training Manager and be located in southwestern Pennsylvania. The position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Madison, PA.

• Participate in all stages of the SAT process of the initial and continuing education programs of their specialty.
• Carry out the analysis, design and implementation of initial and continuous training needs in their specialty.
• Design, development and implementation of the sessions corresponding to the initial and continuous training courses of licensed and non-licensed operations personnel, including teaching sessions in the classroom, plant, and the simulator.
• Carry out the analysis, design and implementation of initial and continuous training needs of their specialty
• Collaborate in the analysis and implementation of corrections in the simulator when any type of malfunction is detected, also collaborating in the tests that are required.
• Coordinate training, providing support to training committees and/or planning training programs.
• Define and collaborate in the development of the supporting documentation required by the assigned activities; as well as in the maintenance and updating of the documentary support already available.
• Define and collaborate in the development of advanced educational means (simulators, multimedia, videos, models...) related to the assigned functions; as well as in the maintenance and updating of those already available.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering OR
• A High School Diploma/GED holder AND one of the experience requirements:

4-10 Years Of Experience In The Following Areas

• Navy Nuclear Operator OR
• NRC Reactor Operator (RO) License OR
• NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License OR
• Plant specific SRO Certification OR
• Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Engineer OR
• Commercial or civilian nuclear experience

Annually Paid

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
