Job summary

Mipac has opened a new office in Tucson, Arizona, seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to help shape local and global project delivery. You will work across the I&C lifecycle on mining, mineral processing, and heavy industrial projects.

The role involves front-end engineering, detailed design, commissioning, site execution, and travel to site locations in North America and internationally. You will collaborate with global engineers and contribute to FAT, SAT, and commissioning

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems.
Experience generating I&C documentation like P&IDs, loop diagrams, functional descriptions.
Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms and industrial instruments (4-20 mA, analog, digital, HART).
Experience in site-based work and commissioning with troubleshooting in live environments.

Responsibilities

Contribute to design and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for mining and heavy industry.
Develop and interpret P&IDs, control philosophies, and functional descriptions.
Prepare I&C deliverables: IO lists, signal schedules, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams.
Create and review alarm registers and control narratives.
Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning documentation and testing.
Configure and support PLC/SCADA systems; perform I/O configuration and testing.
Collaborate with process, electrical, and mechanical engineers for system integration.
