Job summary

RigUp, Inc. in Borger, TX seeks an experienced control systems engineer to review, test, and implement DCS, SIS, and HMI/SCADA solutions for refinery and process facilities.

You will integrate deliverables with the Borger Automation and Control System under approved procedures and cybersecurity standards. The role involves supporting Honeywell Experion PKS/C300 and Triconex platforms, reading P&IDs and control narratives, and coordinating across Operations, Maintenance, and Vendors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review, test, and support implementation of DCS/SIS/HMI/SCADA and related control-system changes.
• Integrate project deliverables into Borger Automation and Control System per approved procedures.
• Support Honeywell Experion/C300 and Triconex-based systems or comparable platforms.
• Coordinate I/O, controllers, remote I/O, logic, alarms, graphics, and operator interfaces.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, loop checks, commissioning, and post-install verification.
• Verify SIS logic, interlocks, trips, alarms, and final-element responses match project requirements.
• Develop and execute installation, test, cutover, and commissioning procedures.
• Promote safety and cybersecurity compliance and document control throughout the project.

• Review, test, and support implementation of DCS, SIS, HMI, SCADA, and related control-system
• application changes.
• Integrate project deliverables into the Borger Automation and Control System in accordance with
• approved procedures, specifications, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Support Honeywell Experion/C300 and Triconex-based systems, or comparable industrial control and
• safety platforms.
• Review and interpret P&IDs, cause-and-eAect diagrams, shutdown narratives, control narratives,
• system requirements, I/O lists, logic diagrams, alarm requirements, graphics, and instrument
• documentation.
• Coordinate configuration and data validation for analog and digital I/O, controllers, remote I/O, logic
• solvers, junction boxes, networks, HMI graphics, SCADA points, alarms, and operator interfaces.
• Participate in and support FAT, software testing, SAT, loop checks, functional testing, SIS testing,
• startup, commissioning, and post-installation verification.
• Verify that SIS logic, interlocks, permissive, trips, bypasses, alarms, and final-element responses
• match approved project and process-safety requirements.
• Support alarm configuration and validation in accordance with approved alarm-response
• assessments, critical-alarm requirements, site standards, and project documentation.
• Develop, maintain, and execute installation, test, checkout, cutover, and commissioning procedures.
• Manage technical questions, field discrepancies, punch-list items, redlines, as-built updates, and
• turnover documentation through completion.
• Support configuration backup, version control, document control, and traceability of approved system
• files and changes.
• Follow site requirements for cybersecurity, virus-free file verification, access control, media handling,
• and transfer of project files to the Automation and Control System.
• Identify technical, schedule, interface, constructability, and operability risks and communicate
• mitigation needs to the project team.
• Provide field and startup support during planned maintenance windows, turnarounds, and project
• execution activities, including occasional extended or oA-shift coverage when required by the work
• scope.
• Promote safe work practices, process safety, management-of-change discipline, and compliance with
• applicable procedures and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience integrating, configuring, testing, commissioning, or maintaining industrial
• DCS and SIS applications.
• Experience working in refining, petrochemical, chemical, power, or another process-industry
• Working knowledge of control-system engineering and implementation documentation, including I/O
• lists, cause and eAects, control narratives, shutdown narratives, logic diagrams, alarm requirements,
• and HMI graphics, marshalling and termination drawings.
• Experience supporting FAT, SAT, loop checks, functional testing, commissioning, startup, or control
• system cutover activities.
• Ability to troubleshoot control-system, instrumentation, communication, and application issues in a
• structured and safety-focused manner.
• Ability to read and apply technical specifications, approved procedures, P&IDs, electrical and
• instrument drawings, and vendor documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across Operations,
• Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, vendors, and contractors.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and document technical decisions and field results.
• Willingness to work at an operating refinery, including field assignments and occasional oA-hours
• support when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS, C300, Honeywell TPS, TDC 3000, Triconex, or comparable
• DCS/SIS platforms.
• Experience with DCS/SIS migration, modernization, brownfield integration, remote I/O, electronic
• marshaling, SCADA, HMI, or control-network interfaces.
• Familiarity with SIS lifecycle activities, safety requirements specifications, SIL concepts, LOPA/PHA
• interfaces, interlock testing, proof-test requirements, and bypass management.
• Experience developing or reviewing installation procedures, FAT/SAT plans, test scripts,
• commissioning procedures, turnover packages, and punch-list closure documentation.
• Knowledge of industrial control-system cybersecurity practices and process-control-network access
• controls.
